Where your data lives

On your machine

Tabs, history, saved pages and settings live in a local database, with daily snapshots. Notes will use local markdown files when the plugin is available.

The exact database and snapshot paths are not yet supplied. Release-specific paths and backup/restore instructions will be added here.

Network boundary

Syrinx does not send local search keystrokes or usage counts to a service. Visiting a website, signing in, streaming and explicitly searching the web still create network requests to those services. Their privacy policies apply.

Plugin-specific network behaviour needs to be reviewed before installing a plugin. The plugin permission model is not yet documented.
